featuring “The Wedding”
This is the first of 4 events
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Warren, Michigan
has planned to celebrate the
500th Anniversary of the Reformation.
The Lutherfest happened and the consensus of everyone attending was that all had a great time.
We had visitors from the neighborhood, many different churches and German clubs.
Starting with the re-enactment of the wedding, besides a small oops with a song streaming from YouTube, it was a success, our version of the Wittenberg Pastor Johann Bugenhagen did a terrific job, even if he had to do it in English as his German Dialect was too hard to understand (LOL). Our Martin Luther and his Kathie fit right in and were perfect for their part. The wedding was well attended.
The “Reception” featured a Pig Roast which was delivered right on time and perfectly cooked by Ilowski Sausage Company in East China Twp.. The food was good and plentiful (as I was in charge of the food, I have to let it stand by the term “good”) and by the amount of Sauerkraut consumed it must have been well liked.
The cold Beer and Wine started flowing, the weather was beautiful but somewhat cool.
The magician and the puppet show also received many positive comments.
I have to give special thanks and credit to our band, Gary, the Guys and Katie who donated their time and did a fantastic job playing for us.
You really sounded great!!!
Our church ladies outdid themselves with all the delicious cakes they baked and deserve a big hand.
The same goes to all the volunteers, without them this event would not have been possible.
I consider this event a success for our St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
We are now gearing up for Dr. Ken Grants presentation and the food sampling!!!
